When this website is accessed, the hosting provider processes connection data required for technical delivery. This may include the IP address, time of access, requested address, browser information, referrer, and error or security logs. Processing is necessary to provide, stabilise and secure the website and is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Hosting and security service providers receive data only where required for these purposes. This website is hosted by HostGator, a service of Newfold Digital, Inc., 5335 Gate Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32256, USA. The server is located in the USA, so connection data and emails sent to the address above are processed in the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Article 46(2)(c) GDPR) in Newfold Digital’s Data Processing Addendum. A copy is available on request.
Protection against attacks
For protection against attacks, this website uses the security plugin Wordfence by Defiant, Inc. (USA). It checks every request on this website’s server and processes the IP address, browser information, requested address and time. To detect attacks, Wordfence transmits the IP addresses of some visitors to Defiant’s servers in the USA. This transfer is based on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which are part of the Wordfence terms. A copy is available on request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the security of this website. Its records are kept only as long as they are needed for the security of this website. Wordfence sets cookies only for logged-in users of the administration area.
Cookies and embedded services
This website does not use analytics or advertising services and does not embed external videos, maps, social media feeds or externally hosted fonts. For visitors, this website sets no cookies and uses no other storage in the browser, such as local storage. Only the browser’s normal cache keeps copies of the page files. Cookies are only set when logging in to the administration area.
Contact by email
If you contact me by email, your message and contact details are processed in order to respond. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual enquiries and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The email service provider processes data as a technical recipient. Messages are deleted when they are no longer required for handling the enquiry, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
