Multifaceted top student at leading universities
I'm Alexander Weiskopf
Even at school, I quickly realized that I was actually similarly talented in every subject as I have many different interests. It was therefore difficult for me to finally decide on a subject or even a country of study. After an instructive memorial service in London and Milan, where I also met my girlfriend, I decided to study International Business Administration at University of Economics and Business Administration Vienna. Before that, I also considered studying at renowned universities in England, Italy or Switzerland, however, studying in my home country of Austria gave me the opportunity to build a future together with my girlfriend. She was born in Ukraine and therefore had to apply for a residence visa. Some acquaintances advised me to study at an international, renowned university abroad. Over the years, it turned out to be exactly the right decision, as I was very successful both in my relationship and professionally with my company and my studies. As a result, I was consistently at the top of my respective year and studied at numerous renowned universities. During these stays abroad, I was also able to greatly improve my language skills and intercultural competencies. I particularly enjoyed my stays abroad in Eastern Europe and specialized in this region accordingly. As a versatile personality, I also expanded my knowledge of Slavic studies and history in addition to my business studies.

Specializing in private equity
In the process, I managed to win a competition where I had to identify a company for acquisition and then prepare a comprehensive proposal that included a calculation of the offer price, a proposed financial structure, a detailed plan for operational and strategic changes after the acquisition, pro forma financial statements for the expected holding period and an exit scenario and valuation.
A few months after the proposal, my company was successfully acquired by one of the most renowned private equity firms.
Master studies
In my Master’s courses in International Management, I had the opportunity to continuously expand my skills in this field at some of the leading international universities. The program allowed me to make numerous contacts and learn from the best professors in the world. It was important for me not to focus on just one area, such as finance, but to expand my knowledge in various specialist fields. I was proud to complete these studies as the best student in my year and thus confirm my achievements in the Bachelor’s studies.
After my professional reorientation, I decided to acquire skills in the field of diplomacy. After carefully evaluating the options, I decided to study at the oldest diplomatic school in the world, the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. The Master in Advanced International Studies is a unique program that provides knowledge in the subjects of economics, law, history and politics and thus fits perfectly with my many interests. An additional focus of this program is on learning French.
Bachelor studies
After a longer stay in Kiev, I began my studies at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. I was very pleased when I realized that the course matched my interests perfectly and enabled me to perform at my best. I benefited from my determination, as I was studying or working almost all the time on certain days. I was also able to almost perfect my Italian language skills during this time. As a cosmopolitan person, it was still important to me to not “only” study in one country and at one university, but also to gain international experience. My home university offered me this opportunity several times and I was excited to broaden my horizons. I was also able to perform and do very well at the leading international universities. Through my studies in China, I got to know the Chinese culture, which still fascinates me greatly and which opened up new perspectives for me. During this time, after my intensive time in Ukraine and also through my studies in St. Petersburg, my passion for Eastern Europe continued to grow. I began to expand my knowledge of Slavic and Russian studies and also studied history at the University of Vienna.
